Short Bio

I am a researcher with 25 years of experience in Human-Centered Artificial Intelligence. I have been a professor at EPITA and a member of LRE since September 2026.

I earned a diploma in Computer Engineering in 1998 from Ecole pour les Etudes et la Recherche en Informatique et Electronique in Nîmes, a DEA in Automated Systems and Micro-Electronics in 1998 from Université Montpellier 2, a Ph.D in Industrial Engineering in 2001 from Institut National Polytechnique de Grenoble (now Grenoble INP), and a HDR in Computer Science in 2012 from Université Paris-Sud (now Université Paris-Saclay).

I was a researcher at the Defense branch of the French Alternative Energies and Atomic Energy Commission (CEA-DAM) from 2002 to 2008, and at the Technological Research branch (CEA-DRT) in Paris-Saclay area until 2014. Then I moved to the Qatar Computing Research Institute of Hamad Bin Khalifa University in Doha where I was a Senior Scientist until 2026.

Research Interests

I am interested in Embodied AI and Human-Machine Alignment to keep machines under human control. I explore the use of Topological Data Analysis, Dimensionality Reduction, and Generative Models to capture the footprint the data leave in the embedding spaces of deep language and world models in interaction with humans.

I also explore the use of Progressive Data Analysis to address the scalability challenge of these approaches.

I apply my research in various domains of data science: nuclear energy, seismology, materials, social, bioinformatics, and health.
