Short Bio

I obtained an Engineering Degree in Computer Science at EPITA in 2020, with a major in Image Processing doubled with the Research and Development major. I then obtained a PhD from Sorbonne Université in 2023 on the subject of A Generic, Efficient, and Interactive Approach to Image Processing with Applications in Mathematical Morphology under the supervision of Guillaume Tochon, Edwin Carlinet and Didier Verna.

Since September 2024, I am an associate professor with the EPITA Research Laboratory.

Research

My ORCID is 0000-0002-6477-7666 and a list of my publications is available here.

My main research interests are:

  • Software Engineering related to Image Processing, where I am one of the maintainers of the Pylene Image Processing Library and the principal maintainer of its related Python bindings, Pylena.
  • Image Processing, and particularly Hierarchical Representations of images belonging to the field of Mathematical Morphology.

Teaching

I am co-responsible of the EPITA IMAGE specialization with Elodie Puybareau.

I am currently teaching the following classes:

  • Advanced C++, Third year of EPITA (2025-)

I am currently a teaching assistant for the following classes:

  • Python for Big Data, Fourth year of EPITA, IMAGE specialization (2025-)
  • Introduction to neural networks, Fourth year of EPITA, IMAGE specialization (2025-)
  • C++ programming language, Third year of EPITA (2021-2022, 2025-)
  • Regular language theory, Second year of EPITA (2021, 2025-)

I was previously a teaching assistant for the following classes:

  • Introduction to Computer Graphics, Fourth year of EPITA, IMAGE specialization (2021-2023)
  • Fundamentals of Image Processing, Fourth year of EPITA, IMAGE specialization (2021-2023)

Supervision

Here, PCR is a specific cursus at EPITA in which students work with LRE researchers on a research subject.

Current PCR student

  • Axel Segurens (PCR-2027) Implementation of Max-Tree processing algorithm on massively parallel architectures (with E. Carlinet and G. Romero-Garcia)

Former PCR student

  • Cyril Barbel (PCR-2025) Static-dynamic implementation of the \alpha-tree (with M. Roynard)
  • Quentin Kaci (PCR-2022) Fast implementation of hierarchies of segmentation (with E. Carlinet)
  • Victor Simonin (PCR-2023) Fast implementation of hierarchies of segmentation (with E. Carlinet)
