Short Bio

Lamine Diop is a computer scientist and researcher who began his studies at Gaston Berger University (UGB) in Saint-Louis, Senegal after earning a Scientific Baccalaureate (S1) in 2011. He completed a DEUG in Applied Mathematics and Computer Science, followed by a Bachelor’s and then a Master’s degree. In 2016 he joined the research master M2 ITIC at UGB and completed a double master’s (UGB / Université François-Rabelais — Tours) in 2017.

He started a PhD at UGB in January 2018 and, after 2½ years, defended his thesis "Échantillonnage sous contraintes de motifs structurés" (Constrained Output Sampling of Structured Patterns) in June 2020. His doctoral work earned the Prix de thèse de la communauté Extraction et Gestion de Connaissances (EGC) in 2021. After a postdoc in Knowledge Graphs (Sept 2020–Aug 2021), he obtained the MCF qualification, served as an ATER at the University of Tours (Sept 2021–Aug 2022), and since 1 September 2022 is an associate professor at EPITA Lyon.
